LessonS BY DR. IHACHI - ALKANES

What are Alkanes?

Alkanes are hydrocarbons that contain only single (sigma) bonds. The general formula for chain alkanes is CnH2n+2 where ‘n’ represents the number of carbons in the structure, n = 1, 2, 3,..etc. In this course, you will learn naming/nomenclature of chain alkanes, alkanes, name cyclic alkanes, alkane isomers, and drawing of alkanes. Please see the entire course outline below describing alkanes including a lecture video, notes, examples and practice quizzes.
